An imaginary island between Europe and Africa. A moon-like and arid landscape, almost at the end of the world.
In a cave in the middle of a desert, DAI, a
Chinese clandestine woman in her 30s lives alone.To survive, DAI sells her body around the harbour ,the military bases and the detention centres, where  hundreds of migrants arrive every day aboard the
Italian military boats. She searches in their faces scared by conflict, horror,
or hope, the one of the man she loves and whom she awaits : her husband. She asks and listens to them
tirelessly, wishing to find a clue of his beloved one.
One night, Dai saves a young castaway refugee,HICHAM, whom she brings to her cave and lovingly
looks after. Once he comes back to life, Dai does not
want to let him go, she wants to keep him so he will
become her lost husband. She tries for every possible means to convince him that he has arrived in China,but Hicham does not believe her and refuses the role Dai has made up for him. He only wants one thing :reaching much desired Europe.
